How this site is built.
The idea
The page is a network. A fibre cable runs down the left side and plugs into each section like a port. The colours come from the kit itself: patch leads, fibre jackets and status lights. Green only ever means something is live.
The stack
- Astro, building plain HTML with no JavaScript unless a feature needs it
- TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS for layout
- Hosted on Cloudflare Pages
- A strict Content Security Policy, with every inline script and style hashed at build time
Type
Archivo for headings and body text, using its width axis on purpose: wide for my name, a little expanded for section headings. Martian Mono for machine text only, like code and interface names. Both are self-hosted. Icons are from Lucide.
